Circle H Jackson (Rockquest's Blackjack x Circle H Konda)

(Deceased)

Jackson, like his half sister Jeanine, came from the Circle H ranch.  Jackson was one of the most intelligent horses I've known.  He also either really liked you, or didn't want anything to do with you. He adored one of my nieces, and was her 4-H horse. He was honest and straight foreward, and did not suffer fools lightly. When he gave his trust, it was 100%. He could also peel any fly mask off at anytime with that move captured in the last picture below.

Royal Rambling Rose (Kellfleet x Royal Rose Anna)

(Deceased)

Beautiful Rose was 25 when she came to live with us.  She taught one of my neices just how much fun it was to ride one of those grand old mares that still have lots of starch in their petticoats. In a world full of princess mares, this was the grand duchess herself.  She was kind and generous, and did everything ever asked of her with style, and raised several nice foals along the way.

Rocking M Jolene (Correll's Comet x Joley Blond)

(Deceased)

Rocking M Jolene, who gave me two good daughters, and was the bravest, most honest mare, and a pretty darned good parade horse. Big Jo took to "city life" far better than any mare who grew up in the wilds of British Columbia should have. Her whole attitude about parades was not, "Egads, what is THAT?", but, "Wow.  I don't know what that is, but I want to be in charge of it."  I'll never forget our first parade, when we rounded a corner, and there was an entire flock of feathered Aztek dancers shaking and rustling.  Everyone spooked except Jolene.  I had to hold her back as she wanted to investigate them.  Look at each of the pictures of her in the parades - she is watching everything going on. She was a great girl, and we lost her far too early, at only 16. I see her in her daughters, and in their foals, as well.

Bisbee (Osirus x Rocking M Stardancer)

(Deceased)

Bisbee, Midnight's first foal, who was with us for only three days.  He was a gentle little soul.  Our son Matthew really bonded with this colt, and losing him was Matthew's first hard lesson in just how fragile these magnificent beasts can be.
